Tears

This morning I read in Revelation 7:17 "And God will wipe from their eyes every last tear."
We all know that scripture. And I've always thought it was comforting to know that God cares about me so much. I picture a loving Father dabbing away my tears. And that's a great picture to have.
But it is almost a sad picture...almost like  "You poor thing. I see your pain. I'm dabbing your tears and comforting you, because I care." Which is nice. But wait...
This morning, I read that the Greek word for "anoint" is "to wipe" or "smear" and this verse can be translated "He will anoint every tear shed from their eyes."
Wow!!
We feel weak when we cry, but actually, our tears are powerfully anointed!!
And I love that picture because I also believe that our places of influence and anointing are birthed out of the places we have suffered and felt pain. Which makes perfect sense if our tears are anointed.
There may be power in the blood, but I see now there is also power in the flood of tears. And it is nice to see tears not as weakness, but as anointed power!
Carry on, Warrior Bride...
